The Debarry Stud herd is based on several cow lines, including Purity, Tabitha, Last Day, Clara, Virginia, Prudence and Petunia. Females must be consistent for longevity. An emphasis is placed on fertility, milk, structure, carcass and doing ability. All cows calve down at age two and must raise a live calf to remain in the herd. We use embryo transfer to increase the number of our best performing females and use artificial insemination to improve our genetic gain.
